Spent some time making mandalas this weekend using the symmetry tool in Procreate. I find it to be very relaxing.  It’s fun to doodle different shapes that all come together to make one large picture. Make time for yourself. Do something fun and creative.

Also...I just joined TikTok and you can see the Timelapse video for this mandala @elephantshoecorner.

I love three day weekends with my family. It was strange since we are still staying home, but we had a good day. We went outside and played with the kids. The kids were able to run around and get some fresh air, play with bubbles, and chalk. Then we came inside and played some board games. Overall, it was a great day with the family.  During nap time, I was able to get some ‘me time’ and make some art on my iPad using Procreate. I decided to do some hand lettering for Memorial Day. I hope you have a great weekend! Make time for yourself. Do something fun and creative.

I had a layoff week from work and today is my last day off before I start back.  The week was good. I had so much that I planned to do on my week off, but I didn’t get to any of it. The one thing that I did do was spend a lot of quality time with my kids. We snuggled and watched movies and played games...it was great and much needed for all of us...and pretty much all that was accomplished all week and that is ok. It is so hard to balance work, kids, homeschooling, housework, and personal time. By the time I get to personal time, I feel guilty that I am not spending time with my kids. It is a constant struggle. Today, I...

It’s been a rough couple of months for everyone. A lot of uncertainty and a lot of changes. These are definitely crazy times. I am currently working from home and homeschooling one of my children. We are quite busy, but very thankful to have a job. I don’t always make time to blog, but lately I have really been trying to make time to pick up my iPad for some digital art. I have been working on my hand lettering and my doodling. I made this using the Procreate app. I started with some doodles of flowers and then I had an open space in the middle, so I thought I would be able to fit the word ‘May’ nicely. If you are read...

In these crazy times I needed an escape, this normally means doing something creative. I had my kiddos color some shamrocks. Trying to keep them busy doing fun and educational stuff while they are out of school. I decided to make another St. Patrick’s Day graphic using the Procreate App on my iPad. Hope you enjoy it. Have a safe and Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Do something fun and creative! You can also. Find me on IG @elephantshoecorner

With St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, I wanted to make a fun graphic. I made this using the Procreate App on my iPad. I hand lettered the wording and drew the shamrocks. I had a lot of fun playing with the lettering and intertwining the flourishes. Very new to lettering, drawing, and the iPad, but having so much fun learning it all! March 1, 2020

Hey Everyone!  I’ve been having so much fun playing with the Procreate App on my IPad. Since today is the first day of March, I thought I could try to hand letter the month.  The word ‘March’ looked a little lonely and I wanted to add something to it.  I do not draw, but I wanted to try something new.  I found that the birth month flower for March is the daffodil. March isn’t my birth month, but I thought a daffodil would go great with my lettering. Happy Birthday to all of the March birthdays out there! I hope you enjoy! I normally post my daily lettering to my IG page. You can check it out @elephantshoecorner...

It has been a long time! The holidays are a tough time and I have really struggled with doing anything lately. I haven’t done any paper crafting lately, haven’t made any cards, haven’t made any new YouTube videos. As some of you may know, my oldest son passed away almost three years ago. Some days the depression hits harder than others. Trying to get out of my funk and get inspired to do anything has been difficult lately. Normally crafting has been like therapy to me. Making myself get into my craft room to create has been a struggle, not to mention it’s messy and I need to clean up in order to make room so I can create...

I love blending with my Tim Holtz Oxides, so I decided to do some blending on one of the watercolor cards that came in the Simon Says Stamp November Kit. I don't normally do any water coloring so this is some very basic water coloring. I also did some masking and ink blending on this card.

I made these cards and video last week right before Halloween, but didn't get around to editing and doing the voice over until this week. We had a lot of fun over Halloween, but it was super busy. My kiddos were adorable! Luckily, they stayed warm. It was quite chilly Trick or Treating here in Iowa. Now that Halloween is over, I am really in the mood for Christmas cards, especially since we are now seeing snow here. Excited for Christmas, but I could do without the ice and snow!

I use some different techniques on these cards including ink blending, water coloring, different ways to use patterned paper, and Copic colorin...

I bought this Ornament Glimmer Plate a while ago, but just wasn't ready to get started on Christmas cards. I love the ornament, and with all of the different colors of foils that you can buy, you can get so many different looks. I hope you find some inspiration!

I was super excited when I received the Spellbinders Card Kit of the Month, Sparkling Holidays. It feels early for Christmas Cards, but we are already half way through October. If I dont get started soon, I will not have my cards ready to send to family and friends. So....I need to start early. It was hard to get in the Christmas mood, so I watched one of my favorite Christmas movies, Trading Christmas. After that I didn't want to stop making Christmas cards. I hope you find some inspiration.

This card making tutorial shows a fun and easy way to foil your card using the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System. I love foil on my cards and this system makes it so easy. I also purchased some Christmas Glimmer Plates for my Christmas cards. I am planning to make a Christmas Card video soon using the Glimmer System. Can't wait to play with the Glimmer System more!
